NOVA Engineering is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector (SCDOT) in our Charlotte, NC office. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

This role offers growth opportunity and advancement for the successful candidate. Responsibilities include field inspections for soils, foundations, pavement sections, reinforced concrete, masonry, wood framing and concrete structures; coordination with contractors and NOVA staff; and daily field

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in construction inspection with roadway focus.
• Experience in HMA quality assurance lab testing.
• Knowledge of SCDOT construction standards and procedures.
• Certification: SCDOT HMA Level 1 QC Technician (required) or ART/Earthworks/Concrete a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections for soils, foundations, pavement sections, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, wood framing, structural steel and related items.
• Coordinate with contractors and NOVA staff on testing/inspection results.
• Prepare detailed and complete daily field reports.
