Job summary

NOVA Engineering is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector (SCDOT) for our Charlotte, NC office. This role focuses on field inspections of soils, foundations, pavement sections, reinforced concrete, and bridge-related work, ensuring compliance with SCDOT standards and project specs.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in roadway field inspection with HMA QA lab testing, strong knowledge of SCDOT procedures, and at least 3 years in roadway and bridge construction.

Qualifications

• SCDOT HMA Level 1 QC Technician certification required.
• SCDOT ART/Earthworks/Concrete certifications are a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in roadway field inspection and QA lab testing.
• Minimum 3 years of roadway and bridge construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of SCDOT construction standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform field services for soils, foundations, pavement sections, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, wood framing, structural steel and other inspections as applicable.
• Coordinate with contractors and NOVA staff regarding execution of services and testing results.
• Prepare detailed and complete daily field reports.
