Job summary

NOVA Engineering is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector (SCDOT) in Florence, SC. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Positions offer growth and advancement opportunities for the successful candidate.

Responsibilities include field services for soils, foundations, pavement sections, and more, coordinating with contractors and NOVA staff, and preparing detailed daily field reports. Certification in SCDOT HMA Level 1 QC is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in construction inspection with a focus on roadway field inspection and HMA quality assurance lab testing.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in roadway and bridge construction (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of SCDOT construction standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform field services for soils, foundations, pavement sections, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, wood framing, structural steel and other special inspections.
• Coordinate with contractors, and NOVA staff regarding execution of required services and result of testing/inspections.
• Prepare detailed and complete daily field reports.
