NOVA Engineering is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector (SCDOT) in our Charlotte, NC office. We are a self-motivated team focused on growth and quality project execution.

The Senior Inspector will lead field inspections, coordinate with contractors and NOVA staff, and produce comprehensive daily reports to document test results and conformance with specifications. • Strong knowledge of SCDOT construction standards and procedures.
• Minimum 3 years of roadway and bridge construction experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform field services for soils, foundations, pavement sections, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, wood framing, structural steel and other special inspections, as applicable.
• Coordinate with contractors, and NOVA staff regarding execution of required services and result of testing and/or inspections, as applicable.
• Prepare detailed and complete daily field reports

One or more of the following certifications is required

• SCDOT Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Level 1 Quality Control (QC) Technician is required
• SCDOT in Asphalt Roadway Technician (ART), Earthworks, Concrete, etc. are plus
• 2+ years of experience in construction inspection with a focus on roadway field inspection and HMA quality assurance lab testing
• Highlydesiredwithaminimumof3yearsofexperienceinroadwayandbridgeconstruction
• StrongknowledgeofSCDOTconstructionstandardsandprocedures
