Job summary

You will operate scale software, enter product and haulage data, coordinate with operators, and serve as the primary contact for drivers and customers to keep loading on schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or relevant experience required.
• 1+ years of asphalt/construction environment preferred.
• Familiarity with scale operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated truck scales and capture tare and gross weights for asphalt and aggregate products.
• Enter customer data, product codes, and haulage information into the ticketing system to produce official proof-of-purchase documents.
• Ensure outbound trucks comply with state weight limits (DOT rules) to prevent overloads.
• Coordinate with plant operators to ensure correct load and tonnage per customer order.
• Direct truck traffic to loading areas, maintaining smooth and safe yard flow.
• Act as the central communication hub between scale house, Foremen, Loaders, and Dispatch via CB radio/phone.
• Coordinate with Loader Operators to ensure correct materials and report loading discrepancies.
• Answer inquiries regarding product availability, pricing, and scheduling; process cash/credit sales accurately.
• Document ticket discrepancies or customer complaints for management review.
• Administer site safety training/orientation for visitors, vendors, and drivers.
• Maintain records of tonnage, sales activity, and inventory reconciliation.
• Maintain clean scale house environment and perform routine scale equipment checks.
• Assist in tracking inventory levels by monitoring material volumes leaving the site.
