Job summary

iPROOF is seeking a Scale-Up Engineer to transfer fermentation processes from lab and pilot scales into demonstration environments, acting as the bridge among R&D, process development, manufacturing, quality, and engineering to ensure robust scale-up and successful commercialization.

You will lead process characterization, scale-up studies, and technology transfer activities, while supporting batch execution, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across microbial, fungal, yeast, and/or

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical, Bio, Engineering (ABET) required.
• 2–3 years post-graduation work experience required.
• Experience in fermentation or biomanufacturing preferred.
• CDMO‑type facility experience preferred.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma/Root cause analysis certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead technology transfer projects from bench, pilot, or external development organizations into the iPROOF facility.
• Scale fermentation processes through pilot and demonstration scales to de‑risk the technology.
• Design and execute experiments for media optimization, feeding strategies, and induction strategies.
• Provide on‑floor technical support during fermentation campaigns and troubleshoot issues.
