Job summary

iPROOF in Decatur, IL is seeking an Engineer II to support microbial fermentation and downstream processing at pilot scale. You will drive process robustness, manufacturing readiness, technology transfer, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires strong technical expertise in industrial biotechnology, collaboration across operations, quality, engineering, and supply chain, and a customer-service mindset to enable successful program execution.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical, Biochemical or related field (ABET-accredited).
• 2–3 years of post-graduation work experience (required).
• Biomanufacturing experience preferred; CDMO experience a plus.
• Lean Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support microbial fermentation and downstream processes at pilot/demonstration scale.
• Coordinate with operations, quality, engineering and supply chain teams.
• Review batch records, process descriptions and documentation; ensure compliance.
