SA Recycling seeks a Scale Operator to accurately weigh trucks entering and leaving the yard while delivering courteous service to suppliers and company drivers.

Responsibilities include documenting loads, maintaining logs, processing weigh tickets, and assisting with scale testing. A high school diploma is required; English/Spanish bilingual is a plus. The role involves day-to-day cash handling and cross-training with office staff, with on-site work in varying weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Attention to detail to prevent data errors.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with suppliers and coworkers.
• Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a challenging environment and multi-task.
• Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office; willingness to learn industry software.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Accurately weigh trucks entering and leaving the yard and provide courteous customer service to suppliers and company drivers.
• Complete required documentation for trucks and loads, maintain logs, and process weigh tickets for end-of-day processing.
• Participate in testing scales for accuracy and report malfunctions to the General Manager.
• Process payments and keep precise records of all transactions.
• Assist suppliers with questions on pricing and materials accepted; maintain account contacts.
• Cross-train and back up other office personnel as needed; maintain punctual attendance.
