Job summary

Interstate Waste Services is seeking a Scale Operator to weigh in/out solid waste vehicles and oversee payments and loads at the landfill scale. You will ensure safety and compliance while supporting drivers and customers in a busy scale house environment.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, English fluency, and some experience with scales. You will perform data entry, basic reporting, and general scale house upkeep.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED completed.
• Strong English fluency required; Spanish a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of warehouse or scale house experience.
• Experience in sanitation industry and with scales preferred.
• Basic computer skills and data entry ability.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for drivers, customers, and other traffic at the scale house.
• Accurately calculate and process payments, weights, and other measurements.
• Verify incoming loads to ensure no unnecessary or inappropriate material.
• Perform administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and reporting.
• Provide general upkeep of the scale house and handle additional duties as assigned.
