Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Scale Clerk to support landfill administrative operations.

You will weigh all inbound and outbound vehicles, inspect loads, and enter data into the computer while delivering friendly customer service to onsite customers and contractors. Working under the Office Manager, you will maintain accurate records, operate the scale system, and help promote a safe, compliant work environment with attention to PPE and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience that is directly related to the duties is preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
• Basic math and data entry skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Weigh all inbound and outbound vehicles, inspect loads, direct to unloading areas, and assist in purchases.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and PPE use; keep area clean.
• Communicate clearly with customers, management, and coworkers to meet safety and service goals.
• Maintain accurate records as required.
• Operate scale computer and apply correct material codes.
• Deliver customer service via phone, radio, email, or in person.
• Process paperwork and create standardized reports.
• Promote continuous safety and environmental practices.
• Handle cash sales/drawer.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Typical schedule 11:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturdays.
