Job summary

GFL is seeking a Scale Clerk to support landfill administrative operations. You will weigh inbound/outbound vehicles, enter data, and maintain customer service on site. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and compliance with health and environment regulations.

You will interact with customers and contractors, keep records, and assist in daily operations while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Responsibilities

• Weigh inbound and outbound vehicles, inspect loads, direct to unloading areas, assist in purchases.
• Adhere to safety standards; use PPE; remove hazards; keep area clean.
• Communicate with landfill customers, management, and coworkers to support safety and service goals.
• Maintain accurate records as required.
• Operate scale computer and apply correct material codes.
• Provide customer service via phone, radio, email, or in person.
• Process paperwork, enter information, and generate standardized reports.
• Promote continuous safety and environmental practices.
• Handle cash sales/drawer.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
