Job summary

Harris Ranch Feeding Company is seeking a scales Clerk to support clerical and reporting tasks in a ranch environment. You will greet patrons and vendors, compile daily scale reports, weigh commodities, and manage communications.

This role requires accuracy, data entry skills, and a proactive approach to office operations. The position involves basic office duties, scanning, filing, and assisting the Accounting Manager as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of clerical experience preferred.
• Strong typing and data entry skills; 10-key proficiency helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct patrons and vendors.
• Compile daily scale and consumption reports.
• Weight commodities and incoming/outgoing cattle.
• Answer phone calls and emails; sort and route messages.

Job Summary:The scales Clerk performs a variety of clerical, recordkeeping, and patron service tasks to assist with the smooth operation of the organization.Reports To:Accounting ManagerDuties/Responsibilities:Greets and directs patrons and vendors.Compiles daily scale and consumption reports.Prepares and distributes cattle and commodities reports.Weight commodities and incoming/outgoing cattle.Answers phone calls and emails.Receives and distributes packages.Copies, faxes, filing, collates, and otherwise prepares reports.Performs other related duties as assigned.Scans documents into databaseRequired Skills/Abilities:Ability to greet visitors, clients, and colleagues in a friendly and courteous manner.Ability to type, Proficiency with 10 key a plus.Ability to proofread.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.Basic understanding of office equipment.Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.Ability to work independently and identify and solve problems.Ability to organize and prioritize work.Education and Experience:High school graduateMinimum 1 year of clerical work experiencePhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 20+ pounds at times.Harris Ranch Feeding Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
