Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service, retail, hospitality, sales support, or other customer-facing experience.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to enter and verify information accurately.
• Ability to follow established procedures and grading standards consistently.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Saturday availability as required.
• Ability and willingness to learn Beacon's metal grades, specifications, pricing processes, and purchasing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with customers, greet them promptly, and learn their needs.
• Grade, weigh, and purchase ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
• Enter customer, product, weight, pricing, and transaction information into Beacon's systems.
• Explain material classifications and grading decisions clearly to customers.
• Stay informed on material specifications and applicable pricing.
• Direct customers to unloading locations and help maintain a smooth scale operation.
• Communicate with the scale house, commercial team, warehouse, and yard operations.
• Maintain organized records and assist with shipping documents and loading trailers.
