Job summary

The Brock Group Inc in Texas is seeking a Scaffold Apprentice to assist in building, demoing, staging and modifying scaffold components at the Phillips 66 - Sweeny Refinery. You will learn to read blueprints and install scaffolding while adhering to safety and contractor specifications.

Successful candidates will support the journeyman and foreman, maintain material organization, and complete required safety documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Scaffold experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Promote Brock’s safe culture in all aspects of the job.
• Comply with manufacturer’s specifications.
• Work with assigned Mentor as per SSW Program.
• Follow Brock, Contractor’s, and governmental safety requirements.
• Perform work per Contractor Specifications.
• Take direction from Scaffold Journeyman and Foreman to learn proper tools and equipment.
• Develop ability to read specifications and blueprints.
• Develop ability to install pipes, braces and clamps for scaffold bases.
• Identify scaffold materials (frame, tube & clamp, system).
• Sort, organize and count material.
• Complete safety paperwork (e.g., FLRA’s, Sharp Cards).
• Other duties as assigned.
