Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group in the United States is seeking a SCADA Engineer to design, analyze, and deliver electrical substation projects for utility and power delivery clients. You will develop and support SCADA systems, RTU integration, substation automation, and communications networks to monitor and operate critical infrastructure safely and reliably.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in SCADA, automation, controls, or power delivery.
• Experience with RTU configuration and substation automation.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
• Familiarity with SCADA protocols: DNP3, Modbus, IEC-61850.
• Proficient with AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical.
• Strong troubleshooting and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and support SCADA, RTU, HMI, and automation systems for utility and substation projects.
• Develop SCADA architecture, diagrams, I/O lists, and integration docs.
• Create wiring diagrams, control schematics, and network layouts.
• Coordinate with Protection & Controls engineers for relay data and alarms.
• Support DNP3, Modbus, IEC-61850, and Ethernet networks.
• Perform FAT, SAT, testing and commissioning support.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and project teams to define requirements.
• Assist with equipment specs, procurement, and evaluations.
• Site visits, startup activities, and field investigations.
• Ensure deliverables meet client specs and Nexus standards.
