Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a SCADA engineer in Charlotte, NC to design, develop, and implement programs and configurations for SCADA devices. You will support multiple SCADA platforms, read diagrams, and coordinate with engineering and field teams to ensure reliable operations.

The role requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree, with 2+ years for Engineer II, and a willingness to participate in after-hours support and field visits.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Engineering degree required; Master's may be accepted in lieu.
• Engineer I: no experience required.
• Engineer II: minimum 2 years in engineering at Fully Meets level.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read protection diagrams, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Familiarity with SCADA hardware, HMI software, and industry standards (NERC CIP).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement programs and configuration files for SCADA devices.
• Support SCADA devices, Station Data Managers, HMIs, and multiple SCADA hardware platforms.
• Read protection diagrams, wiring diagrams, and project documentation.
• Create IO summaries from drawings, relay settings, and data.
• Interface with Engineering, Field Resources, and Operations teams.
• Provide commissioning, engineering, and troubleshooting support to field resources.
• Adhere to SCADA standards and regulatory requirements.
• Enter compliance data into databases and maintain records.
• Travel to field sites as required (5–15%).
