Job summary

SJE is seeking a Senior Electrical/Control System Engineer to work on-site in Charlotte, NC. You will design, implement, test, and support PLC/SCADA systems and electrical panels for diverse industries.

The role requires leading projects, mentoring teams, and coordinating with vendors and customers. Ideal candidates have 10–15 years of related experience, a PE license (preferred), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of Ten to Fifteen years of related work experience in the field.
• Professional Engineer License desired.
• Demonstrate leadership skills for mentoring, training, and development of team members.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers, vendors, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control panels and systems to meet project specifications and standards.
• Coordinate with panel production personnel during fabrication of control panels.
• Develop procedures for factory and field testing of panels and systems.
• Develop PLC and HMI applications across multiple platforms per project specs.
• Lead multiple large projects following company procedures and guidelines.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and field staff.
• Ensure equipment and installations meet specifications and customer requirements.
• Perform site support, testing, and startup activities as needed.
