Job summary

Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America is seeking a SCADA Engineer I to support the maintenance, configuration, and operation of the SCADA system at Panasonic's Gigafactory. You will work under supervision with senior engineers to develop knowledge of Ignition SCADA, PLC integration, and data collection for manufacturing processes.

This role collaborates with controls, MES, IT, and process engineering teams to ensure reliable, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of SCADA design, programming, and commissioning in Ignition or related systems.
• Understanding of tags, alarm pipelines, gateway servers, edge line servers, and historizing data.
• Python scripting for SCADA logic, data processing, automation, and system integration.
• Networking fundamentals for SCADA and PLC/SCADA integration.
• Knowledge of Modbus, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, MQTT, OPC UA, PostgreSQL, SQL.
• Electrical hardware knowledge, drawings, sequence control and software design.
• Familiarity with ISA standards and compliance.
• Ability to collaborate with overseas teams and use first principles thinking.
• Strong MS Office skills; proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking).

Responsibilities

• Support development, implementation, and maintenance of SCADA systems within the Gigafactory.
• Assist in configuring, testing, and maintaining Ignition SCADA applications.
• Collaborate with Controls, MES, IT, and Process Engineering teams to align system functionality.
• Generate SCADA documentation including specifications, architecture, and SOPs.
• Assist with data collection, reporting, and historian functions via SQL databases.
