Job summary

Proconex is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, develop, and support Ignition HMI/SCADA solutions for manufacturing and life sciences environments in the United States. This role collaborates with operations, IT, and QA teams to deliver reliable automation solutions and optimize performance.

You will integrate PLC platforms, configure networks, and create dashboards and documentation while supporting ongoing upgrades and validation in regulated settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years Ignition SCADA development and support.
• 3+ years industrial automation experience in manufacturing environments.
• 3+ years integrating PLC platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric, or similar.
• 3+ years developing HMI/SCADA applications for industrial operations.
• 2+ years SQL databases, queries, and data integration.
• 2+ years troubleshooting automation, controls, and manufacturing systems.
• 2+ years customer-facing engineering or technical support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain Ignition HMI/SCADA applications and automation solutions.
• Integrate Ignition platforms with PLCs, equipment, historians, databases, and other OT.
• Configure and support industrial networks and protocols including OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus, and Ethernet/IP.
• Develop dashboards, reports, visualizations, and user interfaces for operational decision-making.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving PLCs, SCADA, databases, networks, and integrations.
• Support automation system upgrades, migrations, deployments, and lifecycle management.
• Participate in project execution from requirements through testing, commissioning, and startup.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, maintenance, IT, and quality teams.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, configurations, and testing records.
