Job summary

Leidos in South Plainfield, NJ seeks a SCADA Engineer to develop and test OT solutions for electric utility systems. You will work with SCADA, ADMS, DERMS, relays, and real-time simulation platforms to validate workflows and modernization efforts.

The role focuses on integrating systems, performing HIL testing, and supporting grid modernization initiatives, cybersecurity testing, and technical documentation. Onsite presence three days weekly is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience with 4+ years.
• Strong electrical engineering and power systems foundation.
• Background supporting SCADA, ADMS, OMS, DMS, or related utility OT.
• Knowledge of SCADA communications, system integrations, and interfaces.
• Familiarity with protection and automation systems.
• Experience with real-time simulation and/or HIL.
• Laboratory, systems integration, or testing background.
• Knowledge of utility operations and grid management systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot software, hardware, network and integration issues.
• Understanding of IP/LAN, firewalls, and network topology.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and enterprise security standards.
• Experience with deployments, upgrades, migrations, or modernization.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve SCADA and OT system issues.
• Support SCADA integration, testing, upgrades, migrations, and modernization efforts.
• Integrate SCADA, relays, protection devices, and real-time simulation tools in a lab.
• Support real-time simulation and HIL testing.
• Build and test workflows across SCADA, DERMS, ADMS, and related platforms.
• Support testing and validation of DERs, inverters, and grid tech.
• Develop and maintain technical docs, test procedures, troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with engineering, IT/OT, cybersecurity, and utility stakeholders.
• Support system monitoring, log analysis, root cause analysis, and cybersecurity testing.
