Job summary

Leidos is seeking a SCADA Engineer in South Plainfield, New Jersey to support development and testing of advanced OT solutions for electric utility systems. The role focuses on SCADA integration, real-time simulation, protection and automation, and validation of grid technologies.

The position requires onsite work three days per week (Tue–Thu) and offers a salary range of $130,000 to $143,000 per year. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to grid modernization efforts

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent experience with 4+ years.
• Strong electrical engineering and power systems foundation.
• Background supporting or implementing SCADA, ADMS, OMS, DMS, or related OT.
• Knowledge of SCADA communications, system integrations, and interfaces.
• Familiarity with protection and automation systems.
• Exposure to real-time simulation and/or HIL.
• Hands-on lab, systems integration, or testing background.
• Knowledge of utility operations and real-time environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot software, hardware, and network issues.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve SCADA and OT system issues.
• Support SCADA integration, system testing, upgrades, migrations, and modernization.
• Integrate SCADA systems and protection devices within a lab environment.
• Support real-time simulation and Hardware-in-the-Loop testing.
• Build and test workflows across SCADA, DERMS, ADMS, and related platforms.
• Support testing and validation of DERs, inverters, and grid technologies.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with engineering, IT/OT, cybersecurity, and utility stakeholders.
• Support system monitoring, log analysis, and root cause analysis.
