Job summary

Anduril Industries’ Automation team in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Controls Engineer to own the SCADA layer from PLC integration through Ignition applications and plant floor visibility at Arsenal-1.

You will design and commission control systems for production equipment, write Siemens PLC code, implement safe, compliant architectures, and lead continuous improvement with cross-functional teams, leveraging strong automation and safety practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
2+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment.
Proficient in Siemens PLC programming (Ladder and Structured Text).
Proficient in servo drive and VFD configuration, PID tuning, STO/SS, etc.
Strong knowledge of ethernet based communication protocols (ProfiNET, ProfiSAFE, Ethernet IP).
Proficient with electrical component selection and wire sizing, circuit protection, and heat management in control cabinets.
Experience developing SCADA applications in Ignition (Perspective, tag architecture, and historian).
Experience with performing Risk Assessments and Controls Safety Design.
Proficient with pneumatic concepts and design.
Familiar with NFPA70e electrical safety practices.
Active U.S. Government SECRET security clearance
Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.

Responsibilities

Design, commission, and upgrade control systems for production equipment.
Write and debug Siemens PLC code with an emphasis on organized, structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable code for high-volume manufacturing.
Follow internal standards for control systems architectures, regulatory compliance, and safety buyoffs.
Integrate internal and external FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines.
Build and maintain SCADA applications in Ignition, including tag architecture, Perspective screens, alarming, and historian configuration.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures, ensuring rapid resolution and long-term reliability.
Install, configure, and tune servo drives / VFDs.
Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
