Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff Controls Engineer for our Rocket Motor Systems team in McHenry, MS. You will own the SCADA layer supporting production, from Siemens PLC integration through Ignition applications and plant‑floor visibility.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a relevant field, 8+ years' controls experience, Siemens PLC expertise, servo/VFD tuning, knowledge of ProfiNET/ProfiSAFE/Ethernet IP, Ignition experience, and safety design know‑how. US Person status is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
8+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment.
Expert in Siemens PLC programming (Ladder and Structured Text).
Proficient in servo drive and VFD configuration, PID tuning, STO/SS, etc.
Strong knowledge of ethernet based communication protocols (ProfiNET, ProfiSAFE, Ethernet IP).
Proficient with electrical component selection and wire sizing, circuit protection, and heat management.
Experience developing SCADA applications in Ignition (Perspective, tag architecture, and historian).
Experience with Risk Assessments and Controls Safety Design.
Proficient with pneumatic concepts and design.
Familiar with NFPA70e electrical safety practices.
Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.

Responsibilities

Design, commission, and upgrade control systems for Solid Rocket Motor production equipment.
Architect, write, and debug Siemens PLC code with emphasis on maintainable, scalable software.
Generate and enforce internal standards for control systems architectures, safety buyoffs, and regulatory compliance.
Integrate internal and external FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines.
Build and maintain SCADA applications in Ignition, including tag architecture, Perspective screens, alarming, and historian configuration.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures with rapid resolution.
Install, configure, and tune servo drives / VFDs.
Troubleshoot equipment issues with cross-functional teams to reduce downtime.
Mentor junior controls engineers and provide technical direction on integrator-delivered work.
