Job summary

American Water is seeking a Sr Automation & Controls Engineer (SCADA) to lead development, deployment, and support of our automation and process control infrastructure. You will work with design engineers, operations, and partners to ensure reliable system performance and project success.

The role requires 5+ years in maintenance and programming of SCADA/DCS, familiarity with PLC/RTU platforms, and strong knowledge of HMI and networking.

Qualifications

5+ years of demonstrated experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, repair and installation of Process Control Systems (SCADA and DCS).
Experience with data communications systems, protocols, wired and wireless network systems, and cellular and radio telemetry.
Experience with OPC and/or programming languages.
Four-year degree or equivalent experience and/or certifications.

Responsibilities

Implement, maintain and support the automation & process control infrastructure (SCADA).
Develop engineering plans, designs, monitoring, building and commissioning of automation systems.
Develop standards, practices and policies for installation, maintenance and operations of automation systems.
Develop, deploy and maintain programming and configuration code for automation systems.
