Job summary

Allegion, a global leader in door and security solutions, is seeking a Sawyer - Technical Glass Products specialist in Snoqualmie, WA. The role focuses on operating cutting machines to meet production schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow cut list dimensions.
  • Metal cutting experience preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Remains alert in a high-risk environment.
  • Assess priorities to determine what is urgently needed.
  • Maintains schedule and tasks in spite of interruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Check material for defects and correct dimensions.
  • Inspect completed operations for quality, accuracy and quantity and document the operations performed.
  • Expedites material through cutting as required.
  • Organizes the work area & maintains the machines as recommended by manufacturer and supervisor direction.
  • Monitor machine operations as parts are processed to ensure quality and accuracy and per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Prioritize operations to achieve schedule.
  • Allocate materials used to the proper pick-list; Locate & position materials as required from the storage racks to the appropriate cutting center.
  • Schedule cutting operations to ensure on-time delivery per requirements.
  • Verify all operations have been completed as specified on the documents.
  • Perform multiple operations simultaneously often required.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal team members.
  • Train in the use of all relevant equipment
  • Cross train in other production areas; periodically may need to assist in other work areas as required.

Sawyer - Technical Glass Products - Snoqualmie, WA

The Sawyer is primarily responsible for all cutting operations performed on the saw.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM, overtime on Fridays as needed
What You Will Do
  • Check material for defects and correct dimensions.

What You Need to Succeed
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably experienced in running cutting machines.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow cut list dimensions.
  • Metal cutting experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Able to complete assigned tasks in a limited time frame.
  • Strong organizational and math skills.
  • Remains alert in a high-risk environment.
  • Assess priorities to determine what is urgently needed.
  • Maintains schedule and tasks in spite of interruptions.
Physical Demands
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle parts and tools with precision.

  • Repetitive Motion: Perform repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, kneeling,stooping,lifting, gripping, and grasping with hands.

  • Standing Duration: Ability to standfor up to10 hours per shift.

  • Lifting Requirements: Ability tolift upto50lbs.

  • Lift Assist Devices: Use of overhead crane and forklift with training may be required.

  • Environmental Exposure: Ability to work in environments with noise, chemicals, dust,sharp objects,moving/rotating mechanical parts, andtemperature extremes.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Respirator, fall protection, welding hood, etc. may be required depending on job duty and/or work area

Compensation

This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experiences.

  • The expected Base Hourly Range: $22.50 - 23.50. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
