Job summary

Starfire Lumber Co in Cottage Grove, OR is hiring for Sawmill Cleanup. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe plant environment with physical labor including lifting and operating basic equipment. Training is provided for the Kubota tractor and safety procedures are essential.

This full-time position requires reliability, weekend availability, and the ability to follow directions while contributing to team maintenance and production efforts.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen including THC.
• Ability to follow directions reliably.
• Availability to work Saturdays.
• Sawmill experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to learn and follow safety procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read and interpret written information.

Responsibilities

• General cleanup of facilities.
• Use shovel, wheelbarrow, broom, blower, and other equipment to keep grounds and plant clean, functional and safe.
• Split blocks with splitting maul and/or power splitter.
• Clear plug ups inside conveyors.
• Crawl around under machinery to clear out waste material.
• Run small Kubota (training provided).
• Painting as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with Maintenance and Production teams.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
