Job summary

Northwest Hardwoods, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Clean-Up Technician to keep our yard, shop, and equipment clean and safe. You’ll contribute to efficient operations by maintaining a tidy, obstacle-free site and supporting diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment as needed.

Role emphasizes safety, reliability, and physical activity in a fast-paced lumber manufacturing environment. You’ll work with maintenance and warehouse teams to minimize downtime and support production.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and unassisted.
• Endure prolonged physical activity—standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling for 8+ hour shifts.
• Demonstrate agility around heavy machinery and moving vehicles.
• Dependable to manage daily cleaning schedules independently.
• Commitment to personal and workplace safety protocols.
• Familiarity with standard yard tools (brooms, rakes, strapping tools, banding equipment).
• Reliable transportation and good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, rake, and clear lumber yard driveways, walkways, and drive-thru aisles.
• Collect, sort, and dispose of wood scraps, sawdust, metal, plastic wrap, and other debris.
• Empty yard trash receptacles and transport waste to dumpsters or recycling areas.
• Perform seasonal exterior maintenance (snow, ice, debris).
• Assist with re-stacking, bundle, and organizing lumber.
• Maintain grass area and perform mowing.
• Keep trucks and equipment clean via wiping down and power washing.
• Adhere to OSHA standards and safety regulations.
• Report hazards or faulty equipment to facilities manager.
• Collaborate with warehouse team for a clean, efficient workplace.
• Other duties as assigned.
