Job summary

Heat & Controls Limited in Illinois seeks an experienced saw operator to set up and run power saws for precise cuts on metallic and nonmetallic materials. You will read blueprints, measure parts, and adjust speeds and blade tensions to meet tolerances.

The role requires a high school diploma and prior saw experience in manufacturing, with physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Excellent pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Must pass manufacturing and math skills tests.
• Previous saw experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Read tape measure and calipers.
• Blueprint knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate power saws to cut, slot, groove, miter, and trim materials per specifications.
• Select and install blade on machine using hand tools.
• Set controls to adjust speed, feed rate, and blade tension.
• Position guides and fixtures to secure workpiece using hand tools and measuring devices.
• Scribe reference lines on material according to blueprints or specifications.
• Mount material in holding device and operate saw to cut along scribed lines.
• Verify finished dimensions using measuring devices.
