You will position fixtures, adjust speeds, verify dimensions with measuring tools, and work from shop drawings. Physical work including lifting and climbing may be required; reliability and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate power saw to cut, slot, groove, miter, and trim parts per specifications.
• Select and install blade on machine using hand tools.
• Set controls to adjust speed, feed rate, and blade tension.
• Position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct workpiece using hand tools and measuring devices.
• Scribe reference lines on material as guide for sawing operations according to part drawings, templates, sample parts, or specifications.
• Mount workpiece in holding device, manually or using hoist.
• Operate saw to cut along scribed lines.
• Verify dimensions of finished workpiece using measuring devices.
• Read, analyze, and understand shop drawings, blueprints, and/or sketches; ability to stand, lift, climb and perform physical functions
