Job summary

UFP Grandview, LLC is seeking a Saw Operator I to set up and run a single-blade saw. You will read production scheduling sheets to identify required material and ensure it meets quality specifications.

You will perform setups, feed material, inspect equipment, maintain records, and uphold safety and housekeeping standards. The role requires attention to detail, basic math, and a readiness to join safety and continuous improvement programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma GED is preferred but not required.
• Minimum 3 months of experience using saws or similar equipment; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a single-blade saw per specifications.
• Read production scheduling sheets to identify materials.
• Feed material according to specifications.
• Check equipment periodically to ensure specs are met.
• Offload, stack, label, and band finished components as needed.
• Keep work area safe, clean, and organized; ensure equipment is safe.
• Complete pre-shift startup inspection checklists and report problems.
• Maintain clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintain production records as required.
• Check materials and finished products for standards compliance.
• Follow safety and quality procedures; perform LOTO and preventive maintenance.
• Participate in safety, CI, and other programs/meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
