Job description

Saw Operator

The Saw Operator is responsible for producing parts using a horizontal band saw. The role involves ensuring the production of accurate, high-quality products in a timely, cost-effective, and consistent manner, adhering to company procedures and policies, and meeting external customer requirements.

Shift: 1st (6am-3pm)

Pay: $19/hr

Job Responsibilities:

1. Read and comprehend instructions, following established procedures.
2. Set up and operate the saw to cut metal objects.
3. Select the correct feeds, guides, stops, blade gaps, and tooling for each job.
4. Read blueprints and work order instructions to produce parts accurately.
5. Assist maintenance with changing the blade.
6. Verify the length of metal to specifications using rules, gauges, or templates before cutting.
7. Collect the correct materials to begin the process.
8. Inform purchasing of stock issues.
9. Unload stock from trucks and inventory it accurately.
10. Complete work orders efficiently and on time.
11. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
