Job description

SUMMARY:

Wakefield Thermal is seeking talented, motivated and dependable Saw Operator to join us at our facility in Nashua, NH. In this role, the operator will operate various types of saws, both automatic and semi-automatic, to perform operations such as cross cutting and mitering of metal. The operator will perform machine set up and work from drawings, sketches, and samples.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Selects appropriate saw blades according to type of cut and bolts blade to machine shaft.
2. Positions rams and stop on machine table according to specifications of cut.
3. Starts machine, places metal against guides and sets feed.
4. Performs end cut and cycles one part.
5. Measures cut stock from machine using height gauge, caliper or square to verify against specifications.
6. Maintains production count.
7. Inspects and loads data into computer for tracking when applicable.
8. Monitors machine fluid level.
9. Ensures quality of parts before forwarding them to the next operation.
10. Reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management.
11. Responsible for cleanliness of his/her own work area and the general housekeeping of the Company.
12. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

1. High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED).
2. Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
