• Inspect material for defects and scrap defective metal.
• Maintain reliable attendance and keep work area organized.

Job description

Pries is looking for a Cutback Saw Operator to join our team! No previous experience needed.

This position is an 8-hour shift from 10pm-6am, Monday-Friday, with a possible Saturday depending on production. Starting pay is up to $22 per hour.

Training on 1st shift will be required for two weeks.

*Steel toe footwear required* PPE reimbursement is available.

Responsibilities include:

• Verify order length of metal in Epics and confirm die profile to work order
• Verify cut tolerance
• Inspect material for defects and burrs after cutting; scrap defective metal
• Position guides according to specifications of cut
• Check saw stop, blade, blade lubrication, and ensure proper operation of chip collector and barrel
• Instruct saw help in maintaining production and quality standards (team of 1 or 2)
• Ensure proper stacking and alignment of material on racks to prevent damage
• Create rack setups to ensure protection of metal
• Guide saw help employees in packing and stacking of material
• Follow all safety policies and report unsafe activities
• Maintain reliable attendance
• Keep work area clean and organized
