Job summary

Morgan Steel, LLC is seeking a skilled Saw Operator to join our steel warehouse team. The Saw Operator will set up, operate, and maintain industrial saws to cut steel materials according to specifications.

The ideal candidate will have experience in metal cutting, read blueprints and work orders, measure and mark materials, adjust blade settings, and ensure quality control in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work well in a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience operating saws in a steel warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and cutting specifications.
• Proficiency with measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, tape measures).
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate band saws, cold saws, and other cutting equipment to process steel materials.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and job specifications to determine cutting dimensions.
• Measure and mark materials for cutting with high accuracy.
• Adjust saw settings (blade speed, angles, feed rates) for optimal performance.
• Inspect cut materials for quality using precision tools and report defects.
• Perform blade changes and routine maintenance on saw equipment.
• Load/unload steel materials using forklifts or cranes as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow company policies.
• Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to meet deadlines.
