Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate industrial saw equipment to cut metal and other materials according to work orders, drawings, and production specifications.
• Review work orders and production instructions to determine material type, dimensions, quantities, and cutting requirements.
• Measure and verify material dimensions using tape measures, calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
• Load, position, secure, and remove materials from saw equipment safely.
• Select appropriate saw settings, speeds, feeds, and blades based on material and job requirements.
• Inspect completed cuts for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications.
• Identify and report defective materials, equipment problems, and quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
• Check saw blades, fluids, guards, and other machine components for proper condition and operation.
• Replace or assist with replacing saw blades and tooling when properly trained and authorized.
• Maintain accurate production counts and complete required production documentation.
• Properly identify, label, and organize cut materials for downstream production processes.
• Follow established cutting plans and procedures to minimize material waste and scrap.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
• Follow all company safety procedures, including required PPE, machine guarding, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and safe material-handling practices.
• Participate in safety meetings, training, continuous improvement activities, and departmental initiatives.
• Coordinate with production, quality, maintenance, warehouse, and other departments to meet production goals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Previous experience in manufacturing, machine operation, saw operation, metal fabrication, or a related industrial environment preferred.
• Experience operating band saws, cold saws, or similar industrial cutting equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and understand work orders, production instructions, and basic drawings.
• Ability to accurately use tape measures, calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate cuts.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
