Job summary

Apex Geotech Solutions is seeking a Sawyer to cut raw materials to exact specifications in our Wilkes-Barre, PA area facility. This role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and adherence to quality standards within a manufacturing setting.

The Sawyer will operate cutting equipment, read blueprints, and measure parts with calipers and micrometers. You will maintain production records and support material handling as needed to ensure timely completion of work orders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience operating industrial saws or similar machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate saws and cutting equipment to prepare materials per work orders and drawings.
• Measure, mark, and cut steel, aluminum, or other materials to precise dimensions.
• Review production schedules, blueprints, and work orders to determine material requirements.
• Inspect materials before and after cutting for defects, correct length, and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of materials cut, scrap, and completed work.
• Follow all company safety protocols, including proper PPE use and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of saws and work areas.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding production needs or equipment issues.
• Assist in material handling, inventory organization, and general shop duties as assigned.
