  • Measure and mark materials accurately using appropriate measuring tools.
  • Produce precise cuts that meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
  • Identify material defects and notify supervision when discrepancies are found.
  • Properly label and stage completed materials for downstream production processes

The Saw Operator is responsible for accurately cutting raw materials to specified dimensions in support of the company's custom sheet metal fabrication operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring materials are prepared safely, efficiently, and accurately to meet production schedules and quality standards.

The Saw Operator is responsible for interpreting work orders, operating saw equipment safely, verifying material specifications, maintaining equipment, and supporting a clean and organized work environment. Success in this role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.

Essential Responsibilities: Material Preparation
  • Set up and operate horizontal, vertical, cold saw, or band saw equipment to cut raw materials according to work orders and engineering specifications.

Qualifications: Education

Experience

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent:

  • Working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and changing temperatures
  • Wearing required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel‑toe footwear
