Essential Functions
  • Operate various saw machines to perform production machining operations as specified by process drawings, work orders, and other documents.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures—including Health, Safety and Quality Assurance.
  • Report injuries, accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.
  • Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances, sequences of operations, and set‑up requirements.
  • Measure, mark, and indicate dimensions and reference points on the part or material to guide machining.
  • Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as saws, chamfers, and center drilling.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut.
  • Start and monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance machining; adjust machine controls or media as necessary.
  • Verify conformance of finished parts to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience setting and running horizontal band saws for large bundles of round and threaded bar, chamfering, and stamping preferred.
  • Fasteners industry experience preferred.
  • Side loader and forklift experience preferred.
Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Strong math and mechanical skills.
  • Precision work ability with keen attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Ability to read, understand, interpret, and follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing specifications.
  • Adaptability to changes without compromising quality or performance.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise cooperatively with other departments/functions.
  • Work shift schedule and mandatory overtime—including weekends and holidays—as needed.

Work Schedule
  • 1st shift: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.
Physical Demands
  • Stand throughout the scheduled shift.
  • Handle parts with moderate physical effort; frequently exert average effort; lift items weighing up to 50 lbs repetitively.
  • Meet specific vision requirements: close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Use manual dexterity to push, pull, reach, grab, hold, lift, and hammer.
  • Maintain continuous mental and visual attention during cleaning and diversified duties requiring constant alertness.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing environment with multi‑step production runs on different machines; high‑value, highly customized components; high‑precision manufacturing for critical service applications.
  • Noise level: moderate to high.
  • Variable temperature with season.
