Job summary

Common Bond Cafe is seeking a Prep Cook to support our Savory kitchen in Houston. You will prepare meals per our standard recipes, gather ingredients, label and stock, and maintain clean, safe work areas. You will work closely with the Savory Supervisor to ensure quality and efficiency across the line.

Responsibilities include rotating stock, minimizing waste, and adhering to Health Department guidelines while maintaining a professional kitchen image and calm teamwork under pressure.

Qualifications

• Food Handler's Card or Food Manager's Certificate where required by local health code regulations.
• Able to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Health and safety standards adherence in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Create meal preparations by gathering ingredients in order on prep list.
• Label and stock ingredients in their storage area.
• Wash, chop, and sort fruits, vegetables and meats following yield guides.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and according to guidelines.
• Assist in keeping the savory section clean and organized.
