Pape-Dawson's Savannah office seeks an Associate Vice President to lead the land development team, guide growth, and strengthen client relationships across the Savannah market. This hands-on leadership role focuses on delivering complex residential projects and maintaining active involvement in project execution.

The ideal candidate brings extensive civil engineering and land development experience, a strong seller/doer background, and a proven ability to mentor staff while pursuing new business

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering required.
• Georgia PE license required.
• Minimum 12 years of civil engineering and land development experience.
• Significant residential land development experience, including large-scale projects.
• Experience leading and mentoring teams.
• Experience with public-sector clients preferred.
• Ability to manage client relationships while leading project delivery.
• Strong business development, proposal, and client-interview skills.
• Ability to balance project execution, staff development, client service, and business development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Savannah land development team and drive office growth.
• Mentor and direct project managers, engineers, designers, and staff.
• Own complex residential land development projects from planning through closeout.
• Maintain primary client contacts with developers, public agencies, municipalities, and partners.
• Lead projects involving large-scale residential development, infrastructure, utilities, drainage, and civil services.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership ensuring quality, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, performance development, and retention of key staff.
• Pursue new business opportunities through networking and client outreach.
• Lead or support proposals, RFQs/RFPs, scoping, fee development, and contract negotiations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with public-sector clients.
• Represent the firm in professional associations and community events.
• Collaborate with leadership on staffing, resources, and market priorities.
• Ensure consistent application of design, production, and PM standards.
