Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist II for a part‑time shift in Newark, NJ, Saturdays from 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The role involves collecting specimens, processing samples, and entering data with accuracy using lab systems.

Prior phlebotomy experience and a HS diploma are required; medical training and phlebotomy certification are preferred depending on location. Compensation ranges from $24.50 to $26.25 per hour with potential annual bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, incl. pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Verify orders and enter data accurately using lab systems.
• Navigate computer systems and enter data accurately.
• Obtain patient/billing information in compliance with policies.
• Process specimens (labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, preparing for transport).
• Handle non-patient facing duties (inventory, sanitizing, filing, phones, email).
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and training compliance.
• Complete courses timely.
