United States Digital Space LLC in Hawthorne, CA is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer (Satellites) to support satellite and dish manufacturing teams with hands-on EHS expertise.

The role focuses on safety reviews, incident investigations, regulatory compliance (OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH), and developing comprehensive safety programs. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 3+ years of experience in the design, development and operational oversight of environmental, health and safety disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed safety reviews of hazardous operations with test engineers and technicians.
• Lead or assist in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH and other regulatory agencies.
• Collaborate on job hazard assessments and implement EHS policies.
• Develop and implement safety programs including OSHA standards, hazmat, confined spaces, and radiation safety.
• Design safety solutions within cost and schedule constraints with risk controls.
• Monitor exposure to physical and chemical hazards.
• Inspect facilities, machinery and safety equipment for hazards and compliance.
• Develop safety contingency plans and response procedures.
• Maintain compliance with EPA, CERCLA, RCRA, DOT, ITAR and related regulations.
