Job summary

SpaceX in Redmond, WA is seeking an Automation and Test Engineer for Satellites to lead test platform development and robust software validation. You will build hardware-in-the-loop and virtualized test environments, create tools to accelerate software deployment, and work closely with developers to ensure fast, reliable testing across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/engineering or STEM with 1+ years in test systems, software or hardware development; or 3+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Development experience in C, C++, or Python.
• Experience with hardware test setups and Linux/bash environments.
• Knowledge of networking protocols and data analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and build test platforms to validate Starlink software.
• Develop software for test execution across HITL and virtualized simulations.
• Invent tools for frequent and reliable deployment, testing and data analysis.
• Analyze test results and identify bugs with cross‑functional teams.
• Provide a reliable integrated test platform in collaboration with developers.
• Hands‑on integration and troubleshooting of Starlink hardware/software.
• Identify areas for improvement in test systems and craft innovative solutions.
