Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Mechanical Integration & Test Engineer (STARSHIELD) in Hawthorne, CA to own the satellite integration and test flow, interfacing with design, manufacturing, and flight teams to ensure mission readiness.

This hands-on role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, 1+ years of design/manufacturing experience, plus the ability to work under ambiguity, develop procedures, and support production environments; a Top Secret clearance is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ year design and/or hands-on manufacturing experience.
• Willingness to obtain Top Secret clearance.
• Experience with MATLAB or Python.
• Experience with propulsion, thermal, electrical, or structural systems.
• Experience integrating avionics systems.
• Documentation and configuration management experience.
• Ability to work hands-on in production environments.
• Strong engineering intuition and critical thinking.
• Comfort with ambiguity and working across departments.

Responsibilities

• Manage integration build flow and test operations.
• Evaluate designs for manufacturability and integration.
• Interface with engineers and technicians to optimize manufacturing.
• Develop and refine assembly procedures.
• Enable day-to-day execution of vehicle integration and test flow.
• Evaluate non-conformances for root cause and improvements.
