Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Lead Integration & Test Engineer for the Starshield program in Hawthorne, CA. You will lead a team to develop, scale, and maintain manufacturing facilities to build, test, integrate, and launch satellite hardware, with emphasis on rapid iteration and high reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or physics.
• 2+ years of professional design and/or manufacturing experience within aerospace, automotive, industrial, or consumer electronics industries.
• 1+ years of leadership experience leading teams, projects or people.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and specialists in defining processes, shaping build, test, and shipping infrastructure, and designing fixtures/tools/production aids to produce satellites and satellite subassemblies.
• Support day-to-day execution of hardware production and vehicle integration.
• Ensure satellite manufacturing is safe, reliable, on time, cost effective and efficient and performs properly on orbit.
• Challenge design requirements, simplify production, and accelerate build rates with automation as appropriate.
• Implement continuous improvements to upgrade production controls and minimize errors.
• Maintain knowledge of each satellite system including design, schematics, operations, and flight.
• Increase program manufacturing and testing capabilities and capacity.
• Identify root causes from non-conformances and drive improvements.
• Identify opportunities for team growth and training to align with company strategy.
• Set clear goals and hold team members accountable for execution.
