Job summary

SAIC’s Chantilly, VA team is seeking a Satellite Subsystem Systems Engineer to support a cutting-edge space program for DoD/IC customers.

In this SETA role you will oversee design, integration, and test of satellite subsystems, coordinating with Government PMO and developer teams to ensure mission requirements are met and schedules are aligned. This is a highly collaborative, technically rigorous position with growth potential.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Expertise in spacecraft design and engineering; knowledge of at least one satellite subsystem.
• Hands-on pre-launch testing experience with spacecraft systems.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree with required experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Government Program Office focal point for satellite subsystem development and operations.
• Participate in IPTs and milestones; advise on performance and delivery timelines.
• Partner with Developer engineers to share data and ideas benefiting the program.
• Oversee test campaigns, review results, and accept requirement validation evidence.
• Liaise with SETA SMEs to analyze designs, tests, and telemetry.
• Liaise with SETA Mission Engineers to show how subsystems meet requirements and schedules.
• Proactively report risks and issues affecting mission performance or schedule.
• Track and report subsystem progress in weekly meetings at multiple levels.
• Opportunity to become proficient to serve as mission-critical flight system lead.
