Job summary

SAIC is seeking an Acquisitions Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA to support a joint program office with a TS/SCI clearance and polygraph. The role focuses on advising on satellite program acquisitions, managing program mechanisms and risks, and ensuring schedule and cost controls throughout lifecycle.

The candidate will work in a SETA capacity, provide technical analysis, develop integration plans, and contribute to future concepts.

Qualifications

• STEM degree required; 5+ years post-degree experience OR 9+ years without degree; Masters with 3+ years; PhD with 0 years.
• Knowledge of systems engineering standards and the DoD/NRO acquisition processes.
• Experience managing program mechanisms (ROMB/ERB).
• Ability to assess contractor solutions and schedule impacts; prepare briefs, reports, and presentations.
• Able to operate in a high-tempo environment with flexibility to adapt to changes.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple program mechanisms to ensure program success.
• Identify and recommend technical approaches and management controls to meet performance and schedule requirements.
• Participate in requirements change processes to mitigate impacts.
• Provide readiness process expertise including entry/exit criteria understanding.
• Build plans, schedules, and conduct integration of projects/programs.
• Identify programmatic risks and formulate mitigation strategies; address future needs.
