Job summary

CesiumAstro in Austin, TX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to design mechanical systems for satellites and aerospace products. You will work through concept, detail, simulations, manufacturing, and testing, collaborating with electrical and software teams.

The ideal candidate has CAD experience (SolidWorks/CATIA/Creo/AutoCAD), GD&T knowledge, and hands-on experience with thermal, vibration, and EMI/EMC considerations.

Qualifications

• BS with 2–5 years design/analysis or MS with 0–3 years.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with CAD tools: SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo or AutoCAD.
• DFM/DFMA implications of material and process selection.
• Knowledge of GD&T, drafting standards, and engineering documentation.
• Experience with engineering analysis tools such as ANSYS or MATLAB.
• Experience with CNC manufacturing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for Cesium products through all development stages.
• Perform thermal, vibration, and EMI/EMC considerations and simulations.
• Present design review materials to customers and leadership.
