Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in San Diego seeks a Phased Array RF Front End Architect to own the RF front-end architecture for D2D and Broadband payloads. You will collaborate with D2D, Broadband, DSP, and verification teams in a cross-program setting, ensuring performance under space constraints.

The role is hands-on and on-call, requiring lab work, testing, and close coordination with silicon, thermal, and reliability teams to push forward next-gen satellite architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience in component selection and understanding of component reliability.
• Experience with RF measurement equipment (power meters, spectrum analyzers, VSGs, network analyzers, oscilloscopes).
• Experience in wireless system design, architecture, system integration, and RF system analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own the phased array RF front-end architecture across both D2D and Broadband payloads.
• Ensure RF front-end performance across all beam steering angles.
• Define T/R module architecture balancing performance, integration, and semiconductor trade-offs.
• Work with multiple architects to ensure RF front-end consistency with full signal chain requirements.
• Co-optimize RF front-end performance with digital beamforming and interface definition.
• Drive semiconductor process selection trade studies balancing performance, integration, cost, and radiation tolerance.
• Define radiation tolerance requirements for front-end components and qualify parts.
• Flow down front-end requirements to component level and validate through test.
• Contribute to thermal and power architecture for RF front-end in space constraints.
• Evaluate emerging semiconductor technologies for future roadmap.
• Support production and on-orbit debugging; hands-on and on-call.
