Job summary

Relative Dynamics is seeking a Mid-Level System Engineer in Sioux Falls, SD to support USGS EROS Center on ground-based satellite communications systems. This full-time, on-site role requires collaboration with engineers, scientists, and mission partners.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 4–6 years of satellite communications experience, and US citizenship for ITAR compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Satellite Communications/Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 4–6 years in Satellite Communications Engineering or equivalent; experience with ground systems or LEO is a plus.
• US Citizenship is required due to ITAR requirements.
• Three years of continuous residency in the U.S. for issuance of a Government Security credential.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation for facility access

Responsibilities

• Work on meaningful projects supporting Earth science and sustainability.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers and mentors who are passionate about innovation.
• Gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge satellite communications technologies and system development.
• Provide hardware engineering support and maintenance for ground station RF equipment.
• Develop and support ground-based satellite communications systems per mission requirements.
• Coordinate and communicate status with Systems, Software, Operators and other project team members.
• Perform systems engineering activities per the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP)
